The Engineering crew of the RMS Titanic were the engineers, who operated the engines and turbines, maintained them, as well as electricians, who oversaw Titanic's electronic circuits which were needed for her lights, all machinery, cranes, davit winches and the wireless. Then there was a large group consisting of the simpler, but still vital jobs of feeding the furnaces of the ships. They consisted of Firemen, with 13 Leading figures, several greasers and trimmers.

Many men in the Engineering Crew died. They had a lot of men stay behind to slow down Titanic's descent with the pumps. All Engineers lost their lives trying to make the ship function as well as they could till her bitter end. Some stokers were saved in lifeboats, but most of them lost their lives. They were a large group, of over 300 men. Some of them kept shoveling coal in the dry boiler rooms, to keep the steam going, which enabled many systems of the Titanic to still work which was crucial for the evacuation.

A docu-film was made about notable Titanic's engineers, electricians, firemen, trimmers and greasers in 2012: 'Saving the Titanic', giving a small insight of their life onboard, their jobs, their accomodation and their relation to one another, as well as the heroic deeds during the disaster.
