This category contains all crew, passengers and their pets that lost their lives in the sinking of the Titanic. which include onboard deaths as well as those that perished in the water. There were:

  1. Those that drowned inside the ship
  2. Those that landed in the North Atlantic when she sank underneath them and they either drowned or froze in the icey waters.
  3. Those that had been crushed by the first funnel falling
  4. Those that had died because of jumping off the ship
  5. Those that have died because they fell or slid off the ship when she went diagonally
  6. Those that had managed to swim to a Collapsible or lifeboat but were still too cold and exhausted and died anyway
  7. Perhaps some have been shot to death by one officer, this is still a mystery whether it happened and who did it
  8. The presumed suicide of the said officer by shooting himself through the head.
  9. Perhaps some have been crushed when the stern fell back on to them after the break-up (not certain that it happened)
  10. Perhaps some died in an explosion, since that was reported by several witnesses and survivors to have happened in Titanic's final moments.

Most victims were crewmembers. But too many crewmembers were saved at the cost of passengers who were just refused to enter a boat for being male. This happened on portside. Instead useless bedroom stewards were put in the boats because they were crew, but they couldn't even row unlike some high-class ladies such as Molly Brown and the Countess of Rothes. There were even children working as crew member, two of them died. Almost all of the female crewmembers were saved, two stewardesses perished.

First and Second class had low female causalties luckily. First Class had only 4 victims and Second only 13. Some of those women were brave enough to choose to not enter a boat and rather stick with her husband than be seperated from them.

Way too many Second and Third Class male passengers died. A mere 14 Second Class men made it off, out of 168. Too many female Third Class passengers were killed too, because the stewards were locking them down so the First Class had more chance.

Too many children died. Luckily no child in Second Class perished, one First Class child died because the mother and father were looking for their baby which the nursemaid had already taken off the ship so they were too late to find a boat. 54 of the 79 children in steerage were lost, partly because families refused to seperate.

There were also animals that belonged to Titanic. The ship's cat luckily had a prominition so she left with her kittens early on. There were dogs kept in special Kennels on the ship, three dogs at least survived. One was Bebe. She was small enough to be kept at Margaret Hays' chest when she boarded a lifeboat. Several other dogs were not so lucky. It's not known if they were set free but if they were, they too would have been gone down with the ship or end up in the icey waters and not last long.

Off all the 1503 victims, only 328 were found back later. Some remained undentified, several had been given a sea burial and many were transported back to the mainland and given a burial there. Still, a huge number remained lost to the sea forever.
