Emily Louisa Badman was a Third Class passenger of the Titanic. She survived the sinking.

She was born in Clevedon, Somerset in England on January 19th, 1894 as the daughter of Solomon Badman (general labourer) and Emily Badman. she had seven siblings, four being Harry, Arthur, Caroline and Pauline.

Emily decided to travel on the Titanic bound for to Skaneateles, New York where her sister Pauline was living.

She embarked onto the Titanic on Wednesday, April 10th, 1912 at the age of 18 years 2 months and 27 days. She traveled as a Third Class passenger with ticket number A/4 31416 which cost £8 1s. Her travelling companions included Sarah Roth (became sarah’s bridesmaid a week after arriving in NY) Edward LockyerEdward DorkingThomas Theobald, and the Goldsmith family.

She survived the sinking by being rescued in Collapsible C. She later stated that Edward Dorking had helped her to put on a lifebelt. She also claimed to have seen shootings on the deck, and to have heard the band play "Nearer My God to Thee."

The RMS Carpathia rescued her and 711 other survivors, and brought them to New York. After her arrival in New York Emily spent some time at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York.

A week after arrival in NY, Emily was Sarah Roth's bridesmaid.

Emily remained in America. Married Michael O'Grady in 1913. Had three sons, Thomas, Michael and John and a daughter Margaret. The family lived at 553 Prospect Avenue, Ridgefield, New Jersey.

Emily Louisa O'Grady died on July 17th, 1946 and was buried in the Mount Carmel Cemetery in Tenafly, New Jersey. Her husband, Michael died in 1963, aged 75.
