Unnamed Seaman 3 was a fictional seaman of the Titanic in the 2012 Miniseries. He was portrayed by stunt performer Mike Tivadar in an uncredited appearance.
Biography
This seaman is sitting in Lifeboat 15 when Mary Maloney arrives there with her children. They board the boat, but Theresa suddenly panicks and bolts back on the sinking ship. The seaman tries to grab her, but he's too slow.
In Episode 4, the seaman is seen again in lifeboat 15. Mary Maloney arrives there with her children. They board the boat, but when First Officer Murdoch tells steward Hart, who is in charge of the boat that the boat will split if the load increases even further. Theresa immediately assumes "the boat's gonna break" and bolts back on the sinking ship. The seaman tries to grab her, but he's too slow and the boat is lowered without Theresa. The seaman takes the tiller while Hart takes an oar. [1][2]
Trivia
- It seems odd that Steward Hart is placed in charge of lifeboat 15 when an experienced seaman like him is on board too.
- And even though Hart is placed in charge in the miniseries, he is seen being not at the tiller.[2]
